When you pull the trigger the whole assembly finally lets the relic do what it wants to do: gleefully discharge all that pent-up power as a bona-fide lightning bolt. The strange "barrel" of struts and cables insulates it from the user and connects it to the "magazine," actually an empty battery that serves as a sink for stray discharges till it's full and has to be swapped out. The corroded Bronze-Age-style piece of D&D equipment at the core of it still seethes with Arc energy constantly on the verge of lashing out, and the "gun" that appears to use it is really a delicate construct that just barely keeps its power from boiling over. Because Cloudstrike is made from a "relic" of those Guardians and it looks like someone photoshopped a scope onto a wizard staff and that's because it pretty much is a rifle scope mounted on a wizard staff. Like straight-up magical wizard Guardians during the Dark Ages or something. Like really, anything to help these older weapons stand out a bit more amongst the new powerhouses.Origin & Description: Every so often Destiny references a mysterious "they" in relation to Arc energy, and based on Cloudstrike I think "they" are just wizards. Skyburner's Oath's could give it Anti-Barrier rounds. Riskrunner's could just extend the duration of Arc Conductor. They don't even need to be obscenely strong either, like Lumina or Bad Juju's. Headseeker on Crimson wouldn't be bad either. Hell, I'd use Hard Light WAY more if it got Genesis slapped onto it's catalyst. Polaris Lance got Dragonfly and Vigilance Wing got Full-Auto and they feel much better. They don't even really need to be 'special perks' like recent ones have been getting. Whereas some Exotics gain a catalyst now and can gain a significant leap in power like Trinity Ghoul and Deathbringer. Hard Light, Skyburner's Oath, Crimson, Merciless, The Jade Rabbit, Sunshot, Graviton Lance, Borealis, Riskrunner, Coldheart, Prometheus Lens, Telesto, D.A.R.C.I., Tractor Cannon, Sleeper Simulant, The Colony, Legend of Acrius, Sturm, and The Prospector all receive no benefit other than a bonus to a stat or two. Simply make their catalyst stats their default, and then give them an extra perk. The current system sees the Exotic receiving an additional perk, and many Y1 Exotics would appreciate the same boon. Can some older Exotic Catalysts see some retuning as well? Specifically some of the ones from Y1. Can we get Black Talon's catalyst perk changed?Īt least MIDA's was functional with Outlaw, even though it provided minimal benefits.īlack Talon on the other hand? It's completely useless with the changes to swords during S10, and trying to make use of it means you're actually going to deal less damage anyway.
